U8 (born on or after January 1, 2017)

In order to qualify, the player must do the following:
Players must play at least 3 games
Players must score 50% (2.5 points) in order to qualify
5 Round Swiss
25 minutes + 5 seconds delay per move
10 minute forfeit time
CFC Quick Rated
No points will be given for byes; a last round bye is considered withdrawing from the event
There is a 33 player limit.
Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
If you register after 33 players have already registered, you will be placed on a waiting list.
If somebody cancels their registration, the person on the top of the waiting list will be entered into the tournament.
If you are still on the waiting list by March 15 @ 11:59 PM, your registration will be cancelled and you will be 100% refunded.
Come to the venue at least 10 minutes before the first round. Come to the front desk (it will be on the door) to check-in.
Pairings will be announced on a sheet of paper a few minutes before the game begins. It will be hung on the door of the room.
You must sit down at your table, shake hands with your opponent, and start the clock.
After your game is finished, raise your hand so an arbiter can take your score.
Repeat steps 2-4 for all the games.
Awards will be given after all 5 rounds are complete.
Chess Sets and Clocks will be provided so there is no need to bring your own.
Chips, Juice, and Cookies will be provided. You may eat while playing the game.
There is no seating available inside our room for people after games are finished. There is a lobby with tons of seating, and we will have a table with a few chairs outside.
You may spectate games and walk around but please whisper while games are going on.
